Railway vehicles
use high-strength weathering steel and expand the use of cold-formed steel. According to foreign data, there are 67 types of cold-formed steel used in railway vehicles, and the consumption of each freight car is 4.7 tons. It accounts for 20% of the weight of the carriage. In China, there are 18-20 kinds of varieties, and each car uses 1.2 tons, which accounts for 5.2% of the weight of the car. Each vehicle factory should maximize the amount of cold-formed steel used in the design, and give full play to the light-weight, thin-walled, and high-efficiency characteristics of cold-formed steel.
Transmission tower
focuses on the use of cold-formed steel instead of traditional hot-rolled angle steel to improve the overall performance of the tower and reduce costs. In high-voltage long-distance transmission towers, high-strength corrosion-resistant structural steel pipes are currently being tried in Dalian, Guangzhou, Wuxi, Shanghai and other places, and a promotion and application meeting will be held soon. The triangular iron tower structure made of cold-formed steel for the communication tower is also under development.
Steel
sheet piles The application of steel sheet piles is very common in foreign countries, mainly used for river and seaside berms, building foundations and pipe trench construction. However, China has neither product standards nor construction specifications, and cold-formed steel cannot be used. Currently, hot-rolled channel steel and I-beam are used instead. In the next step, the user industry will prepare construction specifications to fill the gaps in China's steel sheet pile market.
Cold-formed steel for machinery manufacturing still has great market potential in the machinery manufacturing industry, especially in the automobile manufacturing industry, but there are not many varieties developed in China, such as: carriage panels, bus keels, automobile doors and windows, drive shafts, exhaust Tubes, shock absorbers, truck beams, etc., as well as bumpers, various bends on cars, have not yet adopted cold-formed steel.
Steel
structure steel structure is the largest user of cold-formed steel. Its application range is the load-bearing framework of buildings, the
cross-sectional view of the steel of the enclosure plate, the roof truss purlin, and the single component, such as: truss, steel frame, wall frame, support platform, Stairs, keels, doors and windows, etc. Cold-formed steel is widely used in the foreign construction industry because it is a light-weight thin-walled steel with excellent properties such as light weight and high strength. It is also a new type of high-efficiency and economical material that the country vigorously promotes. In developed countries, cold-formed steel for steel structure construction accounts for 50% to 70% of the total cold-formed steel, and cold-formed steel is mainly used in three aspects in the house. The steel structure of the house is mainly used in three aspects: pillars and single components for skeletons. And enclosure board parts.
Column material of the framework
load-bearing structural steel pipe is the best column material for steel structure. Its varieties include round pipe: φ21.3-610mm, t=1.2-1.6mm, and 82 standard specifications. Square tube: 20×20-500×500mm, t=1.2-16mm, 101 standard specifications. Rectangular tube: 30×20-600×400mm, t=1.5-16mm, 170 standard specifications. According to the national standard, there are a total of 353 column specifications. In 2002, the steel consumption was 350,000 tons, and in 2005 it will reach 840,000 tons.
Single components, purlins, roof truss and other open cold-formed steel
channels (including internally crimped channel steel, externally crimped channel steel, and unequal side channel steel) specifications are 20×10-400×50mm, t=1.5-6mm, 88 standard specifications. The specifications of angle steel (including unequal angle steel and inner curled angle steel) are 20×20-150×75mm, t=1.2-6mm, and 45 standard specifications. The specifications of I-beam (including inner crimping and asymmetrical I-beam) are 80×40-250×75, t=2-5mm, and 23 standard specifications. According to the national standard, there are 173 specifications of cold-formed steel for open steel structure. In 2002, the steel consumption was 440,000 tons, and in 2005 it will reach 1.05 million tons.
Enclosure panels: profiled panels, sandwich panels, composite panels, corrugated panels, curved panels, etc.
Width B=400-1000mm (non-standard width up to 1250mm), t=0.5-23mm, height H=12-75mm( Non-standard height up to 145mm), 129 standard specifications. In 2002, 180,000 tons of steel was used, and in 2005 it will reach 420,000 tons.
The total amount of cold-formed steel used in steel structures: 970,000 tons in 2002 and 2.31 million tons in 2005, accounting for 32% of the total cold-formed steel.
